SAGE ANALYTICS ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF INTERNATIONAL
 ENVIRONMENTAL MARKET ACTIVITIES
PROVO, Utah, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Sage Analytics International Inc. (NASDAQ: SAII) announced today additional contract awards, total value $350,000, for improvement of the wastewater treatment operations of the Water Board in the Illawarra Region, Sydney, Australia. The usage of the decision-support software by the Water Board has increased significantly since the successful completion of a pilot program at the St. Mary's Sewage Treatment Plant in Sydney late last year. The Water Board announced earlier this year that it is undertaking an $8 billion dollar wastewater treatment program.
Sage will employ its proprietary decision-support software (Sage Analysis) to increase the operating efficiency and performance of individual plants by identifying, prioritizing and ultimately assisting management in removing key obstacles to improve New South Wales government license requirements. The Sydney Water Board's charge is to ensure a clean water supply for residential, commercial and leisure use.
Sage CEO and President, Jon Stephens, commented that "The Sydney Water Board and its subsidiaries have acted upon the importance of maintaining and improving the quality of the water supply, wastewater input systems and sewage treatment plants. Water boards throughout the world are required to adhere and improve compliance." It is anticipated that between 112 and 138 billion dollars will be spent over the next 18 years on the improvement and protection of water supplies throughout the world according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Water Board officials have said that it is imperative that our water and environmental resources be safeguarded from mechanical and operational malfunction. The tools developed and implemented by Sage are unique and have resulted in significant productivity and quality improvements.
Water supplies and systems are coming under increasing scrutiny by various governmental and regulatory bodies throughout the world. The Sage Analysis decision-support software is indicative of the next generation of analytical techniques that follow in the footsteps of Edward Deming, the internationally noted statistical quality control (SQC) expert and his peers. Deming's SQC techniques focus primarily on the manufacturing domain, improving efficiency, profitability and throughput. The Sage decision-support software technology incorporates the human factor. It quantifies and prioritizes potential pitfalls or deficiencies in subjective factors required to operate systems and organizations.
Sage Analytics International Inc. began in 1979 to develop and distribute the Sage Analysis decision-support software technology and related products. Sage became a public company in 1989 and is listed on NASDAQ (SAII). The technology, originally deployed to failsafe Minuteman Missiles, is used successfully and routinely by corporations, governmental agencies and educational institutions to reduce costs, streamline operations and improve profitability. Sage has corporate headquarters in Provo and a regional field office in Sacramento, Calif.
