SAD LITTLE DOLL Girl, 11, Clutches Toy Baby To Give Evidence Against Paedo Accused; WARNING: The Daily Record prints this harrowing court story knowing it will upset many of our readers. But it is our duty to publish it.

A SCHOOLGIRL yesterday told a court she had endured a six-year sex abuse nightmare at the hands of a group of perverts.

Gangs of men would look on as others forced her to have sex or perform sex acts on them, the 11-year-old said.

She claimed one man - William Wilson - orchestrated one session, telling the others when their "turn" was up.

William Wilson also summoned her to him after she had been sexually abused for a "reward" - a slap on the leg or arm.

In a harrowing two-and-a-half hours of evidence, she described in graphic detail the "bad things" which allegedly happened to her at various houses in Ayrshire.

On one occasion, she said, she believed the sickening sex session was recorded by a video camera.

Another time, there were nine people in the room watching her.

The girl clutched a baby doll as she gave evidence to the High Court in Edinburgh via a CCTV link.

And she said she only plucked up courage to tell someone after her younger brother reported being abused.

She told a hushed courtroom: "My brother told someone and started feeling better - that's what made me want to tell."

Six men are on trial and deny a series of sex offences against the girl and her brother, who is now eight.

The girl was accompanied by a social worker as she gave her evidence from a separate room in the courthouse, where she was unable to see the accused men.

The judge and lawyers also took off their wigs to create a more informal atmosphere.

The youngster became subdued and sombre as she was asked to speak in detail about what she said happened to her.

The jury of nine men and six women listened to the young witness and watched her on monitors dotted around the courtroom. Her alleged abusers sat just feet away from monitors, watching as she gave her evidence.

When asked by advocate depute Jamie Gilchrist, prosecuting, if she knew what she was going to be asked about, the youngster replied: "About bad things that happened to me."

She went on to describe how she would be ordered into the bedroom of an Ayrshire house where William Wilson, 38, would tell her to strip.

She said: "He made me take off my clothes and he took off his and made me touch him." The girl said the bedroom had a built-in wardrobe and the doors had big mirrors on them.

Asked what else happened there, the girl - who cannot be identified for legal reasons - said: "I think I was recorded with a video camera."

She told the court that one of the wardrobe doors would be "a bit open".

Inside the wardrobe, she could see a black object with a red light on.

The jury heard that after she had left the bedroom, Wilson would call her back, saying: "Come through for your reward."

The girl said: "That was either a slap on the leg or on the arm."

She said she thought she was about six years old at the time.

William Wilson ignored her pleas for him to stop, she claimed, and silenced her with threats against her mother's life.

The girl told the court: "He sometimes said they were good things and they happened to every child.

"Other times he would get very angry and said to me, or shouted at me, that if I ever told anyone, he would kill my mum."

She also told of an occasion in which she sat in a room full of men, all drinking beer from cans, who took it in turns to commit a sex act with her.

They sat beside her one at a time and made her touch their private parts, she told the court.

She claimed William Wilson was there and told each man when his "turn" was up.

The youngster also described a book about BMW cars which was used to hide "pictures of nude people". She said: "It was supposed to be a BMW book. You know, BMW cars. It was supposed to be for that but it had other stuff inside it."

The jury heard how the girl later picked out men she said were involved in the incidents at police identification parades.

The six men deny a catalogue of serious sex offences at addresses in Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway between August 1992 and August 1998.They are William Wilson, 38, of Newmilns; Peter Cairns, 40, of Ochiltree; David Wilson, 36, of Galston; Garry Wales, 37, of Galston, all Ayrshire; Timothy Harris, 39, whose address has been given as a solicitor's office in Ayr, and Ronald McCarlie, 45, of Carlie House, Gatehouse of Fleet, Kirkcudbrightshire.

William Wilson denies four charges of rape and two indecent assaults on the girl.

He also denies six charges of sodomising her brother.

Cairns, David Wilson and Harris deny raping the girl and sodomising the boy.

Wales and McCarlie deny indecently assaulting the girl and sodomising the boy.

The trial continues.

THE CHARGES: The six accused, whose faces have been hidden for legal reasons, all face charges relating to the girl and her brother, who was only three when the abuse allegedly started. All six deny

sodomising the little boy. Four deny raping the girl, while three deny indecently assaulting her.
