SACMA Recommended Methods.

SACMA Recommended Methods The Suppliers of Advanced Composite Materials Association recently released nine recommended methods for testing composite materials: Compressive Properties of Oriented Fiber-Resin Composites; Compression After-Impact Properties of Oriented Fiber-Resin Composites; Open-Hole Compression Properties of Oriented Fiber-Resin Composits; Tensile Properties of Oriented Fiber-Resin Composites; Open-Hole Tensile Properties of Oriented Fiber-Resin Composites; Inplane Shear Stress-Strain Properties of Oriented Fiber-Resin Composites; Apparent Interlaminar Shear Strength of Oriented Fiber-Resin Composites by the Short Beam Method; Calculation of Fiber Volume of Composite Test Laminates; and Conditioning of Composite Test Laminates.

The recommended methods are the result of a coordinated effort by more than 14 composite materials suppliers and parts manufacturers who reviewed all available composite airframe material specifications, selected the most appropriate elements, and compiled them into a single document.
