SAATCHI ENTERS INTO VENTURE WITH REGAL COMMUNICATIONS TO CREATE
AND PRODUCE PROGRAM-LENGTH ADVERTISING ON A WORLDWIDE BASIS
NEW YORK, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Saatchi & Saatchi North America and the Synchronal Group, a subsidiary of Regal Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: RCOM), have entered into a worldwide venture to leverage Synchronal's experience in the area of "Infomercials," it was announced jointly today by Robert E. Kennedy, Saatchi's chief operating officer of North America and member of the Office of the Chief Executive of Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Worldwide, and Arthur Toll, chairman of Regal Communications.
"Our efforts in this exciting, relatively new area will essentially be targeted at Fortune 1000 companies," Kennedy commented, adding, "this decision reflects our commitment to continually provide our clients with value added."
Toll pointed out that the "Infomercial," or 30-minute television long-form advertising format, is one of the fastest growing areas of television advertising. "Together with Saatchi, we will extend this medium beyond its direct marketing applications, bringing it to bear on helping 'traditional' advertisers achieve their marketing objectives," Regal's CEO noted.
