 SAAB YEAR-END SALES BUCK INDUSTRY TREND
 ORANGE, Conn., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Saab Cars USA, Inc., the U.S.


importer and distributor of Saab 9000 and 900 automobiles, announced at the Detroit International Auto Show that its 1991 calendar-year sales bucked the industry trend and remained virtually unchanged from its 1990 sales total.
 William S. Kelly, Saab's president and chief executive officer, stated at the Swedish automaker's news conference, "In a market segment characterized by annual losses on the order of 15 percent to 50 percent, Saab's impressive 1991 year-end sales result of 26,100 vehicles (including tourist deliveries) demonstrates that Saab automobiles are perceived as the right cars for the demanding decade of the '90s."
