SAAB REPORTS 19.5 PERCENT SALES GAIN FOR JANUARY

NORCROSS, Ga., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Saab Cars USA, Inc., importer and distributor of distinctive Saab 9000 and 900 automobiles, reported a January sales total of 1,267 new Saabs sold.
This result represents a 19.5 percent sales increase compared to the same month last year, when Saab delivered a combined total of 1,060 new 9000 and 900 models through its nationwide dealer body.
Saab's January sales gain was led by the 9000 series, which represented a 43.6 percent share (553 9000 CS and CD models) of Saab sales for the month. During January 1992, the Saab 9000 volume accounted for 35 percent of the Swedish automaker's total U.S. sales, with 372 Saab 9000s sold.
According to Jan Jonsson, vice president sales and operations, Saab Cars USA, Inc., "The January sales increase demonstrates that today's value-conscious consumers recognize the outstanding performance attributes and responsible engineering innovations inherent in each and every Saab."
