SAAB POSTS 7.7 PERCENT SALES GAIN FOR NOVEMBER ORANGE, Conn., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Saab Cars USA, Inc. importer
and distributor of Saab 9000 and 900 automobiles, posted an impressive sales gain of 7.7 percent for the month of November.
According to Jan-Ake Jonsson, vice president, sales and marketing, Saab Cars USA, Inc., "Saab's positive sales performance for the month of November bucks the industry sales trend." He explained, "While consumer confidence is decidedly negative and American households remain pessimistic about prevailing economic conditions, Saab's sales gain of 7.7 percent for the month of November demonstrates that new car buyers recognize the outstanding value Saab 9000's and 900's continue to offer." A total of 1,732 new Saabs were sold during November 1991, compared to 1,608 cars retailed during the same period last year. Jonsson added, "Year-to-date, Saab sales are in accordance with the Swedish automaker's long-term projections during its extremely challenging business cycle. For the first 11 months of 1991, 23,933 new Saabs were sold compared to 24,099 cars retailed last year. This represents a 0.7 percent decline in a market segment categorized by total losses on the order of 15 to 50 percent." -0- 12/3/91 /Steven Rossi or Karin Nobile of Saab, 203-795-7704/ CO: Saab Cars USA, Inc.
