 SAAB AUTOMOBILE AB NAMES KEITH BUTLER-WHEELHOUSE
 PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
 TROLLHATTAN, Sweden, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Keith Butler-Wheelhouse, 46, has been named president and chief executive officer of Saab Automobile AB, the Swedish parent company of Saab Cars USA, Inc.
 Headquartered in Norcross, Ga., Saab Cars USA, Inc. is the importer and distributor of the distinctive Saab 9000 and 900.
 Butler-Wheelhouse will assume his new post Sept. 1. He succeeds David J. Herman, who was elected chairman and managing director of Adam Opel AG in early July.
 The 46-year-old British citizen has been chairman and chief executive officer of Delta Motor Corporation in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, since November 1987. His extensive background in the automotive industry also includes a number of management positions at Ford South Africa, including director of Sales and Marketing from 1982 to 1985.
 In 1985, Butler-Wheelhouse joined General Motors South Africa as director, Technical Operations. Following a management buy-out of General Motors South African interests by Delta Motor Corporation, he became managing director of the new company and subsequently chairman and chief executive officer. Delta Motor Corporation produces Opel passenger cars and Isuzu commercial vehicles in South Africa.
 Butler-Wheelhouse is a native of Walsall, England, and has lived in South Africa since the age of 15. He received a National Diploma of Production Engineering from Port Elizabeth Technicon in 1968 and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Witwatersrand in 1971. He is married and has two sons.
