 ELECTED TO DOMINION RESOURCES AND VIRGINIA POWER BOARDS
 RICHMOND, Va., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- S. Dallas Simmons, president of Virginia Union University, has been elected to the board of directors of Dominion Resources, Inc. (NYSE: D). State Senator Benjamin J. Lambert, III of Richmond was elected to the board of directors of Virginia Power, Dominion Resources' principal subsidiary.
 The new board members, who will assume their posts on Jan. 1, 1992, were elected at a joint meeting of the boards in Richmond on Dec. 20. Dr. Simmons replaces George C. Palmer of Charlottesville and Senator Lambert replaces Allix B. James of Richmond. Palmer retired after 8 years of service; Dr. James after 20 years of service.
 Simmons has been president of Virginia Union University since 1985. Previously he was president of St. Paul's College in Lawrenceville and was vice chancellor, assistant to the chancellor and assistant professor at North Carolina Central University in Durham.
 A native of Ahoskie, N.C., Simmons holds the degrees of bachelor of science and master of science from North Carolina Central University and a doctor of philosophy from Duke University. He is married to Yvonne Martin Simmons.
 Senator Lambert, a Richmond native, has served in the Virginia Senate since 1986, following four terms in the House of Delegates.
 Senator Lambert is an optometrist practicing in Richmond and holds a bachelor of science degree from Virginia Union University and a doctor of optometry degree from Massachusetts College of Optometry. He is married to Carolyn Morris Lambert.
 Senator Lambert is a director of Consolidated Bank & Trust Co.; Richmond Renaissance; Black History Museum and Cultural Centers; Southern Regional Education Board/Commission for Educational Quality; and Virginia Randolph Foundation.
