S&T BANK INTRODUCES TOUCH TONE LOAN(TM)
 INDIANA, Pa., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- S&T Bank has introduced a new

lending service called Touch Tone Loan, it was announced today.
By dialing the bank's customer service center telephone number, 800-325-BANK, individuals may apply for an installment loan or a personal cash reserve credit line. Applications will be taken Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Ed Onderick, senior vice president - branch administration and retail lending at S&T, said the intent of the Touch Tone Loan is two-fold. Designed to appeal to customers who may not have the time or means to visit a branch office, Touch Tone Loan will further enhance S&T's presence within certain banking markets. "Touch Tone Loan services are available to applicants located in all of our trading areas. However, we feel it may be most appealing to the new markets we have entered as a result of our 1991 acquisitions.
"We are still somewhat of a newcomer in Allegheny, Armstrong and Westmoreland counties. Touch Tone Loan provides us with an opportunity to develop additional loan business by making our consumer loans conveniently accessible to potential customers located within the neighborhoods serviced by our community branches."
S&T has developed a system to respond quickly to Touch Tone Loan requests. It is expected that most applicants will receive an answer on the same day as his or her initial telephone call. Additionally, once final approval has been granted, most customers will have the option of consummating the loan entirely by mail or, if he or she chooses, by visiting any S&T branch location.
Initially Touch Tone Loan promotional efforts will be concentrated in the markets S&T has entered through recent bank acquisitions. Onderick said, "It is our hope that this new service will provide our new and existing customers with yet another banking convenience. Touch Tone Loan allows us to take our belief in providing exceptional customer service one step further."
S&T Bank, the principal subsidiary of S&T Bancorp (NASDAQ-NMS: STBA), operates 33 offices in Allegheny, Armstrong, Clearfield, Indiana, Jefferson and Westmoreland counties. With assets in excess of $1 billion, S&T Bancorp trades its stock on the NASDAQ National Market System under the symbol STBA.
