S&T BANCORP TO TRADE SHARES ON NASDAQ NATIONAL MARKET
INDIANA, Pa., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- S&T Bancorp, Inc., has

received approval to trade S&T Bancorp common stock on the National Association of Securities Dealers National Market System (NASDAQ-NMS: STBA).
S&T common stock, which will begin trading April 21, 1992, will be identified by the symbol STBA.
NASDAQ-NMS currently trades the stock of over 2,600 companies. It provides brokers with immediate access to the best bid and asked prices as well as information about the company's shares throughout the trading day.
"We feel this is a very good time to begin trading S&T stock on a national exchange. The market for bank stocks is improving and, we believe, the current S&T price does not fully reflect the excellent fundamental earnings of our company," Robert D. Duggan, president and chief executive officer, said.
Duggan also attributed the decision to begin trading S&T stock on an exchange to several additional factors. "Trading on the NASDAQ-NMS will provide our shareholders and interested investors with more information about our trading activity. High, low, last sale and cumulative volume are available throughout the trading day. In addition, newspaper stock tables, such as the Wall Street Journal, which show all trading activity for NASDAQ-NMS stocks, will now include S&T Bancorp. We also hope this listing will encourage more security firms to make a market in S&T which should eventually increase the liquidity in the stock."
NASDAQ has the capability to report transactions within 90 seconds of execution and is available to over 190,000 electronic terminals in brokers' offices throughout the United States and the free world. "Shareholders throughout the country will be able to check the price of S&T stock in NASDAQ listings or with their broker," Duggan said.
S&T Bancorp's principal subsidiary, S&T Bank, operates 32 offices in Allegheny, Armstrong, Clearfield, Indiana, Jefferson and Westmoreland counties. With assets in excess of $1.1 billion, S&T Bancorp reported record earnings of $11.2 million for 1991.
