Muscat: After some exciting matches amongst the 8 matches held in the first week of the RC Cup, the teams that advanced to the quarterfinals were Ruwi Kings, Muscat Warriors, and Sunshine. In the opening match of the day, HCC scored 108 for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 8 overs. In response, Tile Marine made 52 for 6 wickets in 8 overs, losing the match by 56 runs. Murthaza was declared the man of the match for his 31 runs and 2 wickets. The next match saw Al Khan Foods make 69 for 5 wickets in their stipulated 8 overs. TTC, in response, managed to score 63 for 6 wickets. Al Khan Foods won by 6 runs. Naeem was adjudged the man of the match when he scored 19 runs and took 3 wickets. Sabco, who made 70 for 5 wickets in their 8 overs, lost to Ruwi Kings, who made 73 for 6 wickets in 7.5 overs, winning the match by 4 wickets. Sahil was the man of the match. After registering a win against Sabco earlier in the day, Ruwi Kings then defeated SBG Faizoon by 47 runs, thanks to a quick-fire 40 runs and 1 wicket by Ranjith, who was declared the man of the match. Al Khan Foods, taking on Muscat Warriors, scored 52 for 7 wickets in 8 overs. Muscat Warriors, in response, raced to the target in 5.5 overs, winning the match by 8 wickets. Sunil was the man of the match after scoring 25 runs. Asad XI, playing their first match against CGM, scored 90 for 5 wickets in the stipulated 8 overs. CGM, in response, managed to score 72 for 5 wickets at the end of their 8 overs, winning the match by 18 runs. Zahid was the man of the match. In the penultimate match of the day, HCC Oval posted a moderate score of 47 for 8 wickets in the allotted 8 overs. United Metal, in response, went on to make 50 for 5 wickets in 6.5 overs. United Metal won the match by 5 wickets. Praveen was declared the man of the match. United Metal, who were coming off a win against HCC Oval, lost to Sunshine in the last match of the day. Sunshine made 72 for 6 wickets in 8 overs. United Metal, in response, managed to score 65 for 5 wickets in 8 overs. Sunshine won the match by 7 runs. Sandesh was the man of the match.
