Russian Federation : Schoolchildren of the Krasnoyarsk Territory became prizewinners of the All-Russian Olympiad of STI.
The final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of the National Technological Initiative (STI) was completed in Sochi. To participate in the competition, 20,000 schoolchildren from 85 regions of Russia claimed. As a result of qualifying rounds, 578 participants came to the finals. At the final, full-time, stage, 360 schoolchildren were invited. Senior students from the Krasnoyarsk Territory became winners of the Olympiad in the direction of "Autonomous Transport Systems".
Prize-winners of the profile were the pupils of the 10th form of the gymnasium No. 91 in Zheleznogorsk Ksenia Smelova, Alexander Stasenko, Dmitry Shabinsky, Vladislav Unzhakov. They designed and programmed elements of the logistics system - a copter, a ship and an unmanned vehicle. The profile was developed by the specialists of the Aerospace Engineering Laboratory of the Moscow State University, the Moscow Polytechnic Institute, Skoltekh, the company "Education of the Future" and "Copter-Express."
In the preparation of schoolchildren for the All-Russian Olympiad of STI are involved more than 70 sites throughout Russia. For high school students the engineering Olympiad becomes a serious motivator for development in new areas and in-depth study of school subjects.
The STI Olympiad is held from 2015 on 17 profiles, including unmanned vehicles, large data and machine training, robotics, nanotechnologies, small space vehicles, biotechnology, etc. Finalists of intellectual competitions work on high-tech equipment, solving the actual tasks formulated by leading Russian technology companies. Due to the fact that qualifying stages are held online, access to participation in the Olympics can get every Russian schoolboy, keen on scientific and technical creativity.
The STI Olympiad gives students significant bonuses when enrolling in universities: prize-winners and winners of the STI Olympiad can use the right to get 100 USE points in one of the core subjects (physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, computer science) when entering the partner universities of the NTI Olympiad or 10 points in the portfolio when enrolling in other higher education institutions. Prizewinners and winners of the STI Olympiad of the current academic year will also receive an advantage in selecting them for project schools, primarily for the "Big Challenges" program, which will be held in July 2018 at the All-Russian Educational Center "Sirius".
