Russian Federation : In the Novorossiysk sea port, the import of 25 tons of peanuts from India with E. coli bacteria is prohibited.

A batch of peanuts weighing 25 tons came from India to the port "Novorossiysk". In order to control the safety and quality of products, peanut samples were selected by inspectors of the Rosselkhoznadzor Department for the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea and were sent to the Novorossiysk branch of the Grain Quality Assessment Center subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor.

According to the results of research, it has been established that peanuts do not meet the requirements of the technical regulations of the EAEU On the safety of food products in terms of bacteria of the group of intestinal sticks (coliform).

According to Clause 2, Article 3 of Federal Law No. 29-?? On the Quality and Safety of Food Products, such food products are recognized as substandard and cannot be in circulation. In this regard, on March 15, the Office of Rosselkhoznadzor for the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea decided to ban the importation of this lot.

This year, in the port of Novorossiysk, 70 tons of peanuts with the bacteria of the group of Escherichia coli were not allowed to be imported.
