Russia hands over 2 helicopters and 9 armored reconnaissance vehicles to Kyrgyzstan.
Russian Defense Ministry handed over 2 helicopters MI-9MT and 9 armored reconnaissance vehicles to Kyrgyzstan in an official ceremony held on April 29 in Kant air base with participation of the Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan Rayimberdi Dusihenbiyev and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
Sergei Shoigu said the military equipment being donated is proven and reliable. The equipment will allow to expand possibilities of transport and search-rescue tasks in mountainous areas.
Shoigu also noted that Kyrgyzstan has done a lot for the development of Russian airbase in Kant. The base is an important component of the CSTO, he noted. "Pilots of the two countries fulfill tactical missions successfully. We will continue providing aid to Kyrgyzstan," he said.
Duishenbiyev thanked Russia for support and expressed confidence that the equipment will help fulfill tasks.
