Running: Runners invited to participate in Porthkerry Plod.

LOCAL and visiting runners will be under starter's orders on Sunday, April 27, for the annual Porthkerry Plod.

Set in the stunning setting of Porthkerry Country Park in Barry, the five-mile multi-terrain event covers a course incorporating fields, roads, woodland and coastal paths.

Now in its third year, the event is sponsored by LifeStyle Health and Fitness, which is based at the Vale of Glamorgan Council leisure centres

at Barry, Cowbridge, Llantwit Major and Penarth, and organised in association with Penarth and Dinas Runners.

Potential entrants are urged to sign up as soon as possible, with a closing date of April 25. Entry is just pounds 6 for LifeStyle and affiliated members or pounds 7 for unaffiliated members. Proceeds from the Plod will be given to a chosen charity at a later date.
