Rugby club hopes bus service for fans will get a big following.

THE friends of Leamington Football Club and Stagecoach Midland Red have teamed up to run a bus service to take fans from the town centre to the club ground.

The bus will run from the Upper Parade, Leamington, along Radford Road, through Sydenham, and past the Whitnash Tavern and Heathcote Inn, to the New Windmill Ground on Harbury Lane.

The cost will be pounds 1 for a single ticket.

Friends of Leamington Football Club chairman Keith Hancock said: "This is great news for the supporters. We know that one of the negatives for going to Harbury Lane was lack of transport.

"This bus service will fill that gap and a lot of our townsfolk who long to go to support the town's senior team can now get there."

Stagecoach operations manager Mike Rossiter said: "It is a commercial service and will be treated as such - use it or lose it."
