Rugby Union: SHANE SHINES; NEATH 34 GLASGOW 29.

NEATH came from behind to grab a thrilling win in the Welsh/Scottish League.

The visitors raced into a 17-6 lead after 27 minutes and were still 17-14 ahead at half-time.

But the lead changed hands a further five times during the second half with a 62nd-minute try by Shane Williams putting the home side 27-22 in front.

Back came the spirited visitors to lead 29-27 before, in the 74th minute, substitute full-back Kevin James went over for Williams to convert from the touch-line.

The Wales wing finished with 19 points: a try, conversion and four penalties to pass 200 points this season.

Glasgow coach Richie Dixon said: "We have worked had to improve our game and we performed as much as we hoped so it is bitterly disappointing not to win after our best display in Wales ever.

"We missed some crucial tackles and we did not take all the opportunities to score and it is more difficult to take when we score five tries to their four.

"Their last try was the best score and both teams must take credit for the match which was a tremendous game of rugby."

Captain Gordon Bullock hopes that next time the whistle will stop for them in a see-saw scoring pattern .

"Another few minutes and perhaps we would have scored but we ran out of time," he said.

"We must sort our first time tackling which was not good enough and we lost a great chance to stay with the leaders in the league.

"Our players are now confident and we are starting to win games at the death.

"We go to play Reivers on Wednesday in good heart and we fancy a win in Glasgow."
