JED-FOREST romped to victory in the Hawick sevens tournament at Mansfield Park

The Riverside Park men had failed to clear the first hurdle in their last two competitions - but this time pipped Peebles 26-24 in the final.

Coach Allan Goodfellow said: "Nobody gave us a hope of winning it bu we stuck in."

FIRST ROUND: Kelso 26 Royal Scots 21 (aet), Kirkcaldy 0 Boroughmuir 24, Gala 7 Jed-Forest 19, West of Scotland 17 Glasgow Hawks 21, Stirling Co 12 Hawick 7, Watsonians 24 Berwick 22, Heriot's 19 Peebles 24 (aet), Selkirk 12 Melrose 43.

SECOND ROUND: Kelso 0 Boroughmuir 41, Jed-Forest 19 Glasgow Hawks 7, Stirling Co 28 Watsonians 24, Peebles 29 Melrose 19.

SEMI-FINALS: Boroughmuir 12 Jed-Forest 26, Stirling County 10 Peebles 21.

FINAL: Jed-Forest 26 Peebles 24.
