Rugby Union: Hoppers find late space.
Preston Gr'hpprs 53
THE final score suggests that this was a much more onesided game than was the case at fog-bound Edge Hall Road.
With an hour gone, Grasshoppers led by just 13-0 but in the final quarter the floodgates opened and 40 points came in 20 minutes.
Paul Bailey kicked a penalty and with Owen McKenna running in unopposed and Bailey converting, Hoppers were 10-0 ahead.
Then a second penalty from Bailey made it 13-0 at half-time.
The home backs lost their playmaker when Brian Makhaza left the field injured and, forced to re-organise, they were always going to be up against it.
Yet they did well at the beginning of the second half but with Hoppers taking two strikes against the head, which brought a try for Craig Steel, Bailey's conversion gave his side a 20-point cushion Orrell began to fall away towards the end.
