Rugby Union: Best out injured.

RUGBY UNION: Worcester full-back Lee Best is expected to be ruled out of competitive action until the new year as he requires surgery on his hip.

Best has been diagnosed with a left hip cartilage tear picked up in pre-season training, and he will go under the knife next week to cure the problem.

Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock said: "This is a blow for Lee and a blow for the club as we're about to embark on a demanding new campaign.
