Rugby League: McGUIRE COMES HOME TO SAINTS.
McGuire, 47, a lifelong St Helens fan, is currently group business development director of the London-based Financial Training company, which has an annual turnover of more than pounds 40million.
St Helens-born McGuire is the son of Michael McGuire, the former Labour MP for Ince in Makerfield.
McGuire said: ``It's a big wrench to leave London after 20 years but joining Saints is an immense privilege and presents a huge challenge.
``I pledge to every Saints fan I will do all I can to ensure it becomes the greatest club in the greatest game of all.''
McGuire also becomes a director of Sporting Club Saint Helens, the holding company of Saints Rugby League club.
Eamonn McManus, the St Helens chairman said: ``It's a major catch for the club and for Sean to sacrifice a very successful career in the city is a true measure of his dedication and ambition.''
