Rugby: Stour slip to third defeat; MANCHESTER 19 STOURBRIDGE 5.

STOURBRIDGE took the lead at Manchester but slumped to their third consecutive defeat, leaving them uncomfortably close to the relegation zone.

The omens were not good when scrum-half Toby Handley and on-loan flanker Hese Fakatou cried off in the morning to join young centre Alex Grove on the sick list.

Winger James O'Brien had given Stour the lead in the ninth minute with a sprint from his own line. Hughes missed the kick from in front of the posts and that was the last time the scorer was troubled by Stour.

Manchester went ahead on 32 minutes through a try from lock Gary Rawlings, converted by fly-half Andre Wilson, who added the extras three minutes later to a try by full back Jon Lowden. Winger Dave Wood went over

on the hour to complete the scoring.

Stour, for their part, defended stoutly but rarely threatened.
