Ruel De Vera's selected and new poetry collection now out.

Award-winning poet and journalist Ruel S. De Vera's 'Each Sold Separately: Poems Selected and New,' published by University of Santo Tomas Publishing House (USTPH), is now out.

The book gathers the best poems from De Vera's previous collections, 1996's 'The Most Careful of Stars: Poems' and 2005's 'Faulty Electric Wiring: Poems' along with his newer, uncollected work, offering the definitive examples of his poetic work over three decades.

In his introduction, respected poet and translator Marne L. Kilates calls De Vera 'one of the most original voices in poetry in English being written by Filipinos.' He explores the strange and sentimental intersections between the writer's poems and his journalistic output. Prize-winning poet Mookie Katigbak-Lacuesta says 'better than any of his contemporaries, Ruel S. De Vera has mastered the art of longing. De Vera is master of love either too early or too late, and never, it seems, on time.'

Widely anthologized and published locally and abroad, De Vera is the author and editor of 14 books. He is literary editor at Super. He was literary editor at the Sunday Inquirer Magazine and poetry editor at Pen and Ink. He writes for the Philippine Daily Inquirer and teaches at the Ateneo de Manila University's Department of Communication. His poetry has received the Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature and the Philippines Free Press Literary Award.

'Each Sold Separately: Poems Selected and New' is available for Php 300 at the UST Bookstore located at G/F, UST Main Building, Espana, Manila.
