Royle eyes Rush.

Everton boss Joe Royle last night refused to rule out a sensational swoop for Ian Rush.

The 34-year-old Liverpool legend will be up for grabs on a free transfer when he quits Anfield this summer, writes RICHARD TANNER.

He wants to play at the highest level for two more years and a move across Merseyside would be perfect for him. Royle said: "I have such a high regard for him that I would never rule it out."

Meanwhile, First Division Tranmere are set to move for Welsh ace Rush, whose home on The Wirral is only a few miles from their ground.

Sunderland, Oldham and Swansea are among other clubs said to be interested in the striker.
