Royale to land our Coup in big chase.

Byline: NEWSBOY

COUP ROYALE can turn a step back in distance to his advantage by landing the Sanderson Weatherall Barbara E Birthday Novices' Handicap Chase (1.00) at Newbury.

Colin Tizzard gave the six-year-old his fencing debut in a three-mile handicap chase at Kempton at the beginning of the month.

Coup Royale, who raced at around the minimum trip in four outings over hurdles, travelled strongly for most of the journey but couldn't last home in finishing seventh lengths second to Victory Surge.

This less taxing trip will be much more up his street, and Coup Royale gets the nap vote to overcome a 3lb rise in the weights.

Second to good thing Grands Crus at Haydock last Saturday, BARAFUNDLE can make a quick return to the fray to win the sportingbet.com Handicap Hurdle (1.35).

While 10 lengths behind the winner, Alan O'Keeffe's mount still crossed the line 14 lengths in front of the third horse, and a reproduction of that run should put him in the firing line.

Despite falling four out when a 1-4 shot at Exeter first time over fences, CELESTIAL HALO should be hard to beat in the Grade 2 Fullers London Pride Novices' Chase (2.10).

This top class hurdler had done little wrong prior to his departure.
