Royal request to read Rosie's tale.

THE Queen has written to Welsh adventurer Rosie Swale Pope to ask for a copy of her new book about her five-year run around the world.

Mrs Swale Pope, a 62-year-old grandmother, revealed the royal interest as she publicised the work called Rosie Swale Pope: Just a Little Run Around The World.

She said: "I'm very touched that the Queen would like to read it. I have a parcel of 18 copies of the first edition to give to special people, so I'll give one each to my children, close friends and of course the Royal Family!" The globetrotting runner returned to her hometown of Tenby last August after a 20,000 mile trip on foot around the world, with just a tent on a cart for company.

Her trip followed the death of husband Clive to prostate cancer in June 2002.

She was appointed an MBE in March, and was presented with the 2009 Jane Tomlinson inspiration award by Runner's World.

Rosie, who has already written five books, said she hoped her book could inspire others..
