Rosselkhoznadzor does not allow transit of 19 tons of fish from Lithuania to Uzbekistan.

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) for Tver and Pskov regions did not allow to transit 19 tons of fish through its territory from Lithuania to Uzbekistan. The documents accompanying the cargo were made with violations.

The vehicle moving from Lithuania to Uzbekistan with 19 tons of frozen pangasius steaks produced in Vietnam was stopped on the border with Latvia. The cargo was accompanied by a veterinary certificate of Lithuania and a copy of a health certificate that recognized Lithuania as a recipient of the goods.

Reasons for the prohibition of importation of fish were the absence of a resolution of Rosselkhoznadzor for transit of goods and absence of a veterinary certificate of the producer country.

In addition, veterinary inspection determined a discrepancy of information on the date of production of the goods stated in the veterinary certificate of Lithuania and on the date of production of the goods stated in the labeling.

It was decided to return the goods to the sender.
