Rosetta Stone Selects Adobe Flash Platform For Innovative Rosetta Stone TOTALe Solution.

New Interactive Language-Learning Solution Introduces Practice and Online Socialization

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Rosetta Stone Inc. (NYSE:RST), a leading provider of technology-based language learning solutions today announced it has adopted the Adobe[R] Flash[R] Platform in the development of Rosetta Stone[R] TOTALe[TM] (pronounced tow-TALLY), an innovative, online language-learning solution from the company that is changing the way the world learns languages. The Adobe Flash Platform is a complete system of integrated tools, frameworks, clients and servers for the development of Web applications, content and video that runs consistently across operating systems and devices.

By utilizing the Adobe Flash Platform and real-time collaboration capabilities, Rosetta Stone TOTALe builds on and enhances the effectiveness of the award-winning Rosetta Course[TM] by seamlessly integrating it with coach-led practice sessions, fun and engaging language games, access to native speakers and encouragement from customer success agents - all live and online.

"As with everything we design, for Rosetta Stone TOTALe we needed to craft an intuitive, fun, and consistent experience for learners," said Mike Fulkerson, senior vice president, technology and labs, Rosetta Stone. "Our goals for Rosetta Stone TOTALe made this particularly challenging, as we needed to seamlessly blend self-study lessons with a variety of multi-user interactions, all within a single online environment. The Adobe platform allowed us to quickly develop an engaging, unified learner experience that combines multimedia course content, live coach-led video sessions and a variety of interactive games and chats."

Real-time productivity and collaborative applications, multiplayer games and audio/video chat can be created using key components of the Flash Platform, including Adobe[R] Flex[R] Builder, and the open-source Flex framework. Adobe Flex allows web application developers to efficiently create highly interactive, expressive interfaces for web and desktop applications.

"Consumers want to experience rich applications and consistent content on the Web," said David Wadhwani, general manager and vice president of the Platform Business Unit at Adobe. "Rosetta Stone TOTALe is an excellent example of how the Adobe Flash Platform is being used to deliver innovative, real-time learning and collaborative tools."
