Rose is sweet.

THE travel market also threw up a meeting with a former denizen of the South Wales Echo's Cardiff newsroom, David Rose, who was at the event to help publicise the charms of his US client, the state of Arizona. David, who now lives in Wandsworth, worked as a general reporter in Cardiff between 1981-84. He has landed the job of managing director at PR business McCluskey International but he says he still misses the days of hot metal and panicking newsdesks. ``The only place I have ever found that is as friendly as Wales in the whole world is Tasmania,'' he told me, rare praise indeed.
