Rory out to tee up US jaunt.
Byline: Andrew McInnes
Rory McKenzie is hoping Kilmarnock treat the squad to a pre-season trip to Florida if they manage to avoid the dreaded play-offs.
The striker spends every summer in the sunshine state because his uncle is a golf pro over there.
And he'd love to celebrate Premiership survival with a few rounds of golf in the States.
He said: "My uncle Iain Mossman is the pro at The Old Collier course in Florida.
"He got me into the sport when I was a youngster and I grew up in Troon where all you have is golf courses.
"I walked round Loch Lomond with my uncle when I was about two or three years old and my love of golf sprung from that.
"I wish we could organise our pre-season out in Florida every summer as it would make a change from England or whatever.
"I have a plus one handicap. I could probably have done a scholarship but I wouldn't like to say I was at a level where I could have gone pro.
"If I hadn't got a senior football contract I would have gone down another road - and it would have been golf."
