Ronald M. Rizzo, 69.

WALES - Ronald M. Rizzo, 69, of Monson Rd., died Wednesday, Feb. 1st, 2012 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Helen (Morrison) Rizzo; three sons, Michael Rizzo of Smithfield, ME, Dennis M. Rizzo of Fiskdale and Vincent J. Rizzo and his wife Chelsea L. of Webster; two daughters, Donna A. LaMountain of Cape Coral, FL and Dianna R. Carlson and her husband Christopher L. of Wales; a brother, Vincent J. Rizzo of Rahway, NJ; 7 grandchildren and his Chihuahua Dog, Jordan. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ, the son of Vincent and Pauline (Slavin) Rizzo and grew up in Linden, NJ. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was the recipient of 3 Purple Heart metals and 1 Oak Cluster.

Ronald worked for General Motors in Framingham for over 25 years until 1988. He later drove for the Town Cab Co. (formerly Vets Cab Co. and CR Cab Co.), in Southbridge for over 20 years until his illness. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and was a Black Card Member with the casino. Ron loved driving and most of all loved spending time with his wife and family.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4th, at 11:00 a.m in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will follow in Wales #4 Cemetery, Wales. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4th, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m before the service.
