Rollforming-Equipment Producer Acquired.
B&K manufactures rollforming, coil-handling, and rotary punching/shearing equipment. Designs include the B&K Supermill, Rotary Shear, and Rotary Pierce. It was founded in 1954. B&K products will be designed and manufactured at Formtek operations outside Chicago and in Maine. The acquired company's founder, Ernest R. Bodnar, will act as a consultant to Formtek.
The B&K line will complement existing Formtek metalforming operations, including Cooper-Weymouth, Peterson (shears), Coilmate/Dickerman (coil-handling), and Rowe Machinery & Mfg. (all in Clinton, Me.); Dahlstrom Industries (Schiller Park, Ill.) and Hill Engineering (Villa Park, Ill.).
Parent company Mestek (NYSE) manufactures HVAC equipment as well as sheetmetal processing machinery.
