Roller derby daredevils are looking for new recruits; roller derby.

AFTER Teesside Skate Invader's (TSI) watched two premier men's roller derby teams on BBC Breakfast they thought it was time to open up the doors for more men to join the revolution.

TSI has been on scene since 2013 and are looking for some fresh meat!

Their new intake took place on Sunday, March 29, at Eston Leisure Centre in South Bank.

TSI's co-captain Dick Dashtardly threw down the gauntlet to those who think they can part of the team sport.

"Men's roller derby has become huge over the past few years, and we're looking for people who want to be part of a new competitive sport," he said. "Whether you've seen TSI about town or seen men's roller derby on TV, seen Whip It or Rollerball and thought 'I want to do that',' or are looking for a new sport to try out, then TSI's new intake is for you."

Men's roller derby is a contact sport involving formation roller skating around an oval track, and has become increasingly popular in the UK over the past few years off -shooting from women's roller derby.
