Roland Boosts Inkjet Fine Art Supplies.

IRVINE, Calif.--Roland DGA Corporation recently announced the introduction of Studio Series Enhanced Black Ink and Provence Rag Fine Art Paper. The new ink and paper are both optimized for Roland's 6-color Hi-Fi JET printers and CAMMJET printer/cutters.

"When used with our 100-percent cotton fine art papers, Studio Series Enhanced Black Ink provides an outstanding, rich black," said Laura Wilson, Roland product manager for supplies and accessories. "This vivid black also enhances the entire color gamut and depth-of-field of a photograph. Black-and-white photos really come to life. Our black ink has been developed using proven technology and will provide excellent longevity when combined with the rest of our pigment ink set."

Studio Series Enhanced Black Ink is designed for use with Roland's standard pigment ink set and Roland 6-color printers. It is formulated for optimal results on Roland's fine art media, including the Concorde Rag Fine Art Paper and the new Provence Rag Fine Art Paper. Company officials say its formulation makes the ink incompatible with other substrates such as gloss film or canvas.

Provence Rag Fine Art Paper, Roland's newest addition to its growing line of fine art papers, is a softly textured fine-art paper. It is mould-made from 100-percent cotton fiber and is pH neutral, acid free and lignen free. This heavier weight paper is specifically engineered for wide-format inkjet printing and is water-resistant when used with Roland's pigment ink set.

"This new fine art paper is a beautiful soft white with a unique texture that actually enhances the image," said Wilson. "The product handles heavy ink loads with minimal cockling and exhibits excellent stability."

Roland also recently introduced the Hi-Fi JET PRO, which company officials said is the first wide-format printer to offer 8-color, 1440 by 1440 dpi printing with variable droplet technology.
