Rock star Bryan Ferry to divorce at 68.

ROCK star Bryan Ferry and his wife are divorcing but remain "on extremely good terms", his publicist has said.

The 68-year-old singer, from Washington, Tyne and Wear, and former PR woman Amanda Sheppard, 31, who married in a private ceremony on the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2012, were granted a decree nisi at London's High Court. They now have to wait for a decree absolute to formally end the marriage in the coming weeks.

A statement from his Ferry's publicist said: "With great sadness, Amanda and Bryan have decided to go their separate ways. They remain on extremely good terms and wish each other only the best going forwards. They would each be extremely grateful if their privacy in regard to this matter could be respected." Ferry previously had a relationship with model Jerry Hall - who left him to marry Mick Jagger.

The fine arts graduate went on to marry London socialite Lucy Helmore, and had their sons Otis, Tara, Isaac and Merlin, splitting after 21 years of marriage in 2003. He married Amanda in January 2012 in a simple private ceremony at the Amanyara luxury beach resort on the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Before the wedding, he spoke of his good luck at attracting women, saying: "I'm very fortunate that I work in music, where you're in touch with different age groups."
