Rock memorabilia goes under the hammer.

A BIRMINGHAM radio station will be auctioning off rock memorabilia in a bid to raise cash for the children of alcoholics and drug addicts.

Kerrang! radio station is holding the fundraising event on April 26 in an effort to drum up funds for The Children's Society. "We are also looking for businesses and individuals to get involved by fundraising or making a donation," said a spokesman for the station.

"This is such a good cause as more than two million children live with parents who drink hazardously, 705,000 children are living with a dependent drinker and it is estimated that 350,000 children live with a problematic drug user."
