Roche Diagnostics to Make Its DNA Chip Available in Japan.
Tokyo, Japan, May 11, 2006 - (JCN) - Roche Diagnostics announced on May 9 that it will launch AmpliChip CYP 450, its proprietary DNA chip for gene polymorphism analysis, on May 11.The AmpliChip CYP 450, which was co-developed with Affymetrix, can detect polymorphisms in cytochrome P450, an enzyme related to drug metabolism.
One unit (for 24 tests) sells for 1,423,800 yen ($12,600). A dedicated analyzer, the Affymetrix GCS 3000DX instrumentation system will be offered by Affymetrix Japan.
