Robinson: Ciftci can do Well at Fir Park.

STEPHEN ROBINSON insists Motherwell will have landed a big-money star for a song if he can get a tune out of Nadir Ciftci.

The Fir Park gaffer is set to unleash the on-loan Celtic striker against Hamilton today after bagging the Turk until the end of the season.

Ciftci has toiled at Parkhead and his career drifted during loan spells at Eskisehirspor, Pogon Szczecin and Plymouth in the last 18 months. But he is determined to make an impact with Well.

Robinson has already seen glimpses of what the attacker can do in training and is determined to get a bang for his buck.

The Well gaffer said: "I'd love to have PS25million and be able to buy the finished article.

"But I've found Nadir a great boy. It can be very satisfying for a manager when he's able to get the best out of a player again after a difficult spell.

"I'd love that to be the case with Nadir.

"We don't get Nadir if he's at the top of his game.

"We get a boy who has maybe not progressed on as much as he should've done for someone of his ability. And that's why we have him here.

"It's up to me to bring that confidence back, get his fitness levels up and give him a real platform to excel again.

"He's shown us glimpses of absolute brilliance in training at times."
