Robert R. Harris becomes AICPA board chairman.

Robert R. Harris, CPA.CFF, of Florida is the new chairman of the AICPA Board of Directors. His term, which became effective at the fall governing Council meeting on Oct. 20, will expire in Oct. 2010.

Harris has long been an active AICPA volunteer. He is a former member of the AICPA board and has been a member of the governing Council for 15 years. He was chairman of the AICPA's National Accreditation Commission, which oversees the Institute's four specialized credentials, and chaired the 150-Hour Task Force on educational requirements. He has also served on the PCPS Executive Committee, Women's Initiatives Executive Committee, Quality Review Executive Committee and State Legislation Committee, among others.

A past president of the Florida Institute of CPAs, Harris is managing director of Harris, Cotherman, Jones, Price & Associates, CPAs, in Vero Beach. Acting as a consulting and testifying expert, he regularly speaks to attorneys and CPAs throughout the country on professional standards and malpractice issues.
