Robert Martin opens third on-site child care center

The Robert Martin Company has announced that Bright Horizons Children's Centers recently opened a new child care center at the developer's South Westchester Executive Park in Yonkers, New York.

Robert Martin introduced developer-initiated child care centers to Westchester County in 1990 when the company opened a Bright Horizons at its Cross Westchester Executive Park in Elmsford, and has continued its commitment with the addition of a 7,000-square-foot center at Seven Odell Plaza.

According to Michael A. Grossman, Robert Martin vice president, work-site child care plays an important part in creating a total business environment for tenant companies. "The introduction of child care centers within our corporate developments," Grossman described, "is a natural addition to our tenant service and amenity programs which have, over the past four decades, established on-site services that provide a more productive and pleasurable atmosphere for our tenants while also benefitting the surrounding community."

The new Bright Horizons was cited by Sally Ziegler, director of the Child Care Council of Westchester, as Yonkers' first work-site center and the only facility in the city to offer infant care. "With only five child care centers in the entire city," Ms. Ziegler comments, "Robert Martin and Bright Horizons are making an invaluable contribution to Yonkers, especially in terms of providing infant care which is the area of greatest need. As the State's fourth largest city, Yonkers certainly deserves to have a significantly higher number of child care spaces available, and the opening of this new center represents a very positive step toward reaching this goal."

Bright Horizons is the nation's largest provider and leading designer of work-site child care centers. Headquartered in Massachusetts, Bright Horizons currently operates more than 39 centers throughout New England as well as in New York, Delaware, Virginia and North Carolina. Each of their Children's Centers were specifically designed to provide an environment which maximizes education, safety, and quality care for young children.

The new Bright Horizons Children's Center is within the 140-acre South Westchester Executive Park, a multi-use development which will ultimately total two million square feet of space for corporate offices, high-tech facilities and support services. Presently encompassing ten new buildings, the Park already contains over 940,000 square feet of space, and is the business address of more than 60 prominent firms.
