Robbing rail users; YOUR LETTERS TO THE NATIONAL NEWSPAPER OF WALES.
Obviously it has not occurred to councillors or officers in receipt of their very generous emoluments provided by Caerphilly's financially hard pressed residents, that this tax on rail travellers - because that is what it is - will not only discourage the use of a hard fought for facility, but will certainly dent the proudly promoted green credentials of the county borough.
Surely the much respected Blaenau Gwent MP / AM Peter Law, who with myself and many others campaigned for years to establish a decent rail system in the Western Valley, is spinning like a top in whatever paradise he finds himself, at the bare-faced robbery of rail users about to be committed by Caerphilly CBC.
I was under the impression that greener and more cost effective methods of travel were the objective. Clearly I must be misinformed, the hitherto worthy ladies and gentlemen of Caerphilly County Borough Council are of a contrary opinion.
