Robbery charge.

POLICE have swooped to arrest a man in connection with a robbery in a bookmakers.

An investigation was launched by Cramlington CID after the robbery at Chisholm Bookmakers in Avenue Road, Seaton Delaval, Northumberland, on Monday last week.

Detectives arrested 32-year-old Andrew Wylie of Linden Road, Seaton Delaval, on Tuesday.

He remains in custody and was to appear at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court today charged with robbery.

Police were called at around 9.30pm after a man wearing a hooded top went into the premises, threatened a woman and took money from the till before fleeing on foot with a small amount of cash. The woman was shocked but not hurt.
