MARSH Liberal club's Rob Armitage was on top form in the Huddersfield Snooker and Billiards League latest round of matches.
In the billiard matches Armitage of Marsh Lib A with splendid breaks of 68 and 66 against Gordon Bennett of Upper Hopton B. There were 14 breaks of 25 or more in the billiards league with Dave Stuart of Lindley Lib made a 26, Jack Dyson of Meltham Lib B and Michael Holding of New Mill B registered breaks of 27.
Scott Lawton of Milnsbridge Lib B had a 31, Meltham Lib B's David Quarmby recorded a 34, Tony O'Hara of Marsh Lib A had a 39 break, Steve Whiteley of New Mill A had breaks of 42 and 39.
Brian Cousen of Lindley Lib mad a fine 55 break, Matthew Peaker of Brockholes BC had breaks of 60 and 55, Upper Hopton B's David Firth scored a superb 61.
In the Open Snooker matches saw only 13 breaks of 25 or more were recorded, three players made a 25 break, Shaun Mulhall of Almondbury Con A, Phil Kennedy of Upper Hopton B and Johnny Lendon of Broad Oak BC B, three players also recorded a break of 26, Tony Marren of Almondbury WMC A, John Lee of New Mill B and Trevor Boothroyd of Meltham Lib A,.
Jack Ellis-Pownall of Meltham Lib B made a 30, both Richard Steer of Berry Brow Lib A and Ian Newby of Lower Hopton WMC made a break 31.
Mark Heap of Broad Oak BC A had a 37, Michael Dyson of Canalside C registered a fine 41, Chris Thorpe of Marsh Lib A had a fine 46, but the highest break was made by Dean Poutney with a splendid 49 break against Aaron Stott of Meltham Lib D.
