Road death boy named.

A teenager killed as he crossed the road has been named as Michael Craig Sorlie.

The 13-year-old, of Ebchester Street, South Shields, was killed crossing the A19 near the Lindisfarne sliproad at 5.35pm last Thursday. Any witnesses should ring police on (0191) 214-6555.

More training

NEARLY three-quarters of people in the North-East say employers who fail to train their staff should be fined.

A CRACKDOWN on taxi fare dodgers is being launched by Berwick Borough Council.

BAMBURGH Beach has been voted as the most dog-friendly place in the North-East by pet owners. It will now go through to the national finals of the contest organised by dog food firm Winalot.
