Road accidents down by 7.3 per cent.

The number of road accidents in Oman dropped by 7.3 per cent in August 2018 compared to the same month in 2017. According to the latest data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, 215 road accidents were recorded last month. The Governorate of Muscat recorded 26 per cent of road accidents in August this year, followed by the Governorate of Dakhliyah at 16.7 per cent. Of the total number of accidents, 56 per cent occurred at night and 44 per cent were recorded during the day.
