Byline: The Register-GuardHere's a look at major road construction this week around the region. Weather conditions may cause delays.
Eugene
Alder Street:From 11th Avenue to the millrace will be closed Wednesday for construction at Northwest Christian College.
Springfield
42nd Street at Weyerhaeuser entrance: Watch for trucks and equipment entering and leaving 42nd Street at the entrance for construction of a bicycle/pedestrian path.
Blue River Area
McKenzie River Drive: Placement of shoulder rock; expect 10-minute delays with traffic controlled by flaggers and pilot car.
Dexter Area
Highway 58: Installation of guardrails and preparation for paving between Dexter Park and Kitson Ridge Road, mileposts 11 to 39. Expect minor delays and closed lanes.
East Lane County
Highway 58: Addition of passing lanes, highway widening, three new fish culverts and other structure improvements from Kitson Ridge to the West Salt Creek Tunnel, mileposts 56 to 39. Expect 20-minute delays, with flaggers and pilot cars.
Highway 126: Finn Rock east to the county line, occasional one-lane traffic for work on the McKenzie River Bridge; minor delays for guardrail work in the project area. Watch for signs, flaggers and workers along the roadside.
Elmira Area
Territorial Highway: Addition of left-turn lane at Warthen Road, plus curbs, sidewalks and a pedestrian island at a school crossing. Delays up to 20 minutes during the day Monday through Friday.
Junction City Area
Highway 99: Flat Creek Bridge to West Third Avenue, expect nighttime lane closures and traffic delays up to 20 minutes. One-lane traffic each direction, with construction zone on the west side; no left turns allowed in work zone. Take access from construction zone via First Avenue on the south or 10th Avenue on the north.
Lowell Area
Jasper-Lowell Road: Shoulder rock and minor clean-up on Highway 58 to Lowell. Flaggers direct traffic; minimal delays.
Mapleton Area
Highway 36: Pavement patching on Monday from mileposts 4.5 to 5.5 from Mapleton to Swisshome.
Marcola Area
Marcola Road: Realignment and excavation of the roadway continues from the Mohawk River Bridge to Shadows Drive. Flagger control with delays of 10 to 15 minutes.
Marcola Road: Installation of storm sewer continues between Wendling Road and Railroad Lane. Up to 20-minute delays, with flaggers on site. Traffic to and from Sweet Home should seek other routes.
Santa Clara Area
Irvington Drive: Installation of storm sewers from Korbel Street to Northwest Expressway, with utility work continuing at the east end of the project near River Road. Delays up to 20 minutes; watch for flaggers. Seek alternate routes, if possible.
River Road: Installation of storm sewers continues as part of reconstruction of road to urban standards between Carthage Avenue and Beacon Drive. Expect 20-minute delays with flaggers controlling traffic. Use alternate routes, if possible.
Seavey Loop Area
Seavey Way: Work continues on replacement of Frank Parrish Bridge over the Coast Fork of the Willamette River. Minimal delays with flaggers on one-lane bridge.
South Lane County
Interstate 5: Preparation for demolishing the old Coast Fork Willamette River Bridge and driving piles continues this week, with freeway traffic detoured to a temporary bridge at milepost 180.
Springfield Area
Highway 126/McKenzie Highway over the Willamette River: Occasional nighttime lane closures to prepare for westbound bridge repairs.
