Rivers flows and reservoirs level report - Press Note issued by Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority.

Following is the text of press note issued by Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA)


The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 83500 cusecs and Outflows 125000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 14200 cusecs and Outflows 14200 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 17400 cusecs and Outflows 35000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 34800 cusecs and Outflows 5900 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 148600 cusecs and Outflows 140200 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows: 144600 cusecs and Outflows 145000 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 148000 cusecs and Outflows 122900 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 21200 cusecs and Outflows 4900 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 137700 cusecs and Outflows 111400 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 91000 cusecs and Outflows 37600 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 52400 cusecs and Outflows 17600 cusecs.

Reservoirs (Level and Storage):

Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1392 feet, present level 1540.00 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 5.477 million acre feet (MAF).

Mangla: Minimum operating level 1050 feet, present level 1218.30 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 5.562 MAF.

Chashma: Minimum operating level 638.15 feet, present level 646.00 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.153 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
