Rivers flows and reservoirs level report - Press Note issued by Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority.

Following is the text of press note issued by Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA)


The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 95700 cusecs and Outflows 130000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 14500 cusecs and Outflows 14500 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 15900 cusecs and Outflows 37000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 36500 cusecs and Outflows 7700 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 151600 cusecs and Outflows 143200 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows: 154600 cusecs and Outflows 150000 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 158900 cusecs and Outflows 132000 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 21200 cusecs and Outflows 5100 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 138000 cusecs and Outflows 113800 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 91100 cusecs and Outflows 37600 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 53400 cusecs and Outflows 17600 cusecs.

Reservoirs (Level and Storage):

Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1392 feet, present level 1541.44 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 5.560 million acre feet (MAF).

Mangla: Minimum operating level 1050 feet, present level 1218.80 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 5.597 MAF.

Chashma: Minimum operating level 638.15 feet, present level 646.40 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.166 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
