Rivers flows and reservoirs level report - Press Note issued by Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority.

Following is the text of press note issued by Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA)


The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 100600 cusecs and Outflows 130000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 14600 cusecs and Outflows 14600 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 12700 cusecs and Outflows 32000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 36500 cusecs and Outflows 7700 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 162700 cusecs and Outflows 154300 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows: 156300 cusecs and Outflows 150000 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 158900 cusecs and Outflows 131800 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 22300 cusecs and Outflows 6100 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 133700 cusecs and Outflows 108500 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 91100 cusecs and Outflows 37600 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 54200 cusecs and Outflows 17600 cusecs.

Reservoirs (Level and Storage):

Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1392 feet, present level 1542.63 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 5.628 million acre feet (MAF).

Mangla: Minimum operating level 1050 feet, present level 1219.40 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 5.639 MAF.

Chashma: Minimum operating level 638.15 feet, present level 646.50 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.169 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
